Poverty around the world
Definitely. We see images of poverty every day in our own societies, and that is shocking enough, but to see such desperate conditions in other countries is incredibly sad, and worrying that we have let our fellow people down so apparently :( This just increases my concern for impoverished people everywhere, not just in my own country. We CAN help if we stick together, but it will take serious effort on everybody's part.

North Korea is a communist country
Well, North Korean citizens really are just in terrible conditions. They not only have to overcome the issues that many other countries face (Hunger, lack of proper food for themselves), but the communist aspect of the country surely keeps North Koreans from improving their lives even if they did have aid. The military presence in this country is scary, especially when under the control of leaders such as Kim Jeong Eun, the projected leader of the country. Those who may not agree with the countries politics are probably to afraid to speak out for improvement, and this environment encourages no progression :(

How many years?
The difference is frighteningly high. While, as you pointed out, Haiti has a life expectancy of barely 30 years, Australians are projected to live to around age 80. This life expectancy is also shown to have increased within recent years. The fact that developed nations are icnreasing in life expectancy is very fine for them, but it is sad knowing that the "poorer" countries are not easily improving. :(
